Pom Pom Camp

Known for its 'soul' and appeal to safari traditionalists, Pom Pom Camp is an eco-friendly camp located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and not only offers superb Okavango scenery but also consistent game viewing all year round. Pom Pom is the real deal for those who live & breath Africa.

Kwara Camp

Kwara sits on the beautiful lagoon of the original site, and is a larger and more luxurious camp than its predecessor. The décor of Kwara pays homage to the authentic African style of Kwando Safaris, and has 9 canvas tents. Each tent has a spacious deck overlooking the lagoon, an ensuite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers and a gorgeous bath – all of which have views out to the floodplains. There is a ceiling fan in the room and mosquito nets around the beds. The main area of the camp, sits in the centre of the camp, has a dining area, lounge and curio shop.

Lagoon Camp

Lagoon accommodates up to 16 guests in eight expansive tents. Each tent’s private deck, living area, and bathroom all afford picturesque views over the river. Likewise, these views are also perfect to wake up to, in bed. Each tent has an ensuite bathroom with both an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a bathtub for an enjoyable afternoon soak. The main areas of the camp include a bar and sitting area, outdoor deck with a swing, dining area, curio shop, orientation centre, and a cosy second-level library overlooking the river.

Itinerary

Days 1 to 4: Okavango Private Concession

Pom Pom Camp

You will be met at Maun Airport and your charter flight to Pom Pom will take around 20mins. Pom Pom lies in a fantastic, seasonally flooded, private area which is archetypal Okavango Delta. This game-rich private concession has all the wildlife you could want on safari and activities include day and night game drives, mokoro safaris and motorboat cruises when water levels allow.
The camp is close to the airstrip so once you land it won't be long before you get to camp and settled in giving you an opportunity to start exploring the area as soon as the afternoon activities start. This is a great area for plains game and you will see many Impala, Red Lechwe, Zebra and Wildebeest which attracts plenty of Predators, in particular Leopard and African Wild Dog.

Days 4 to 7: Okavango Private Concession

Kwara Camp

After a morning activity you will fly to Kwara taking around 25 mins with stunning views of the Okavango as you head directly across the largest part of this vast water system. The private Kwara concession is truly superb with Predator sightings a very regular occurrence. Due to its location you can take part in land and water activities here giving you a great Okavango experience in a very short time.
Excellent guiding will show you the varying micro-ecosystems of this area as you move from the open waterways into the Mopane forests with a change in species as you do with there being far more Elephants in the woodlands where they prefer to feed. This are is known for its Lion population with regular sightings of African Wild Dog too.

Days 7 to 10: Linyanti Private Concession

Lagoon Camp

After a morning activity you will fly to Lagoon Camp taking around 40 mins with stunning views of Chobe National Park and its vast grasslands. Lagoon Camp and its private concession is well-known for its superb all year round sightings and during the dry season this one of the best places to see the vast herds of Elephants. Another feature of this area is the herds of Buffalo that range across the concession which always attract the attention of any local Lions.
Predators here are common with this being another superb area for African Wild Dog but also one of the best places to see Cheetah, a much more rare sighting elsewhere.
On you final morning you will do an activity followed by your flight to either Maun or Kasane for your flight home or onward travel to Zimbabwe or Zambia, both within easy reach.
