Wonderful Wildlife & So Much More
This astonishing country has some of the most amazing outdoor experiences in Africa. From the empty beaches of the Eastern Cape to the arid Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the contrast of experiences in South Africa is rivalled by nowhere else in Africa. Its world famous national parks are very accessible for those who want to limit their budget, giving many self-drive and guided options in all of them. South Africa has many private game reserves as well giving fantastic luxury accommodation and almost guaranteed Big 5 sightings.
Kruger National Park
The most famous of all the national parks in the Rainbow Nation and an excellent place to see the wildlife of Africa, this park is huge by any standards and borders Mozambique and Zimbabwe. There are many options here for your safari from self-drive camping through mobile safaris to Luxury Lodges in and around the park.
Addo Elephant National Park
A relatively small park in the Eastern Cape, this little gem has some excellent wildlife including the large number of Elephants and many other large and small species. Recently doubled in size it now extends all the way down to the Eastern Cape coastline where there is a fantastic chance to see Dolphins and Whales at certain times of the year.
It always a great place to combine with a visit to the fabulous beaches of this least known of the provinces that are virtually empty and provide some of the best surfing anywhere in the world.
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
In the far north east of the country you can find the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park that straddles the border with Botswana. This remote region is a semi-desert area where you can see all the wildlife that Africa has to offer but without the large crowds of some of the other more well-known parks. This remote area of South Africa is a true delight with some amazing accommodation and fabulous sights.
