Lodge Description

Sindabezi Island is unique - the discerning traveller's best kept secret. An idyllic, exclusive camp on our very own private isle on the Zambezi River, it is the only luxury bush camp from where Victoria Falls can comfortably be explored. Experience the large number of activities in the area during the day and return to a tranquil haven, a thousand light years away from the bustle at night. Fodor’s consider Sindabezi one of the top 10 eco lodges in Africa.

There are only five open-sided thatched Chalets on the entire island, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of a pristine African bush setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience.

Sindabezi Island is currently one of the top 10 eco lodges in Africa according to Fodor's.
To ensure you have the most peaceful experience with us we have kept Sindabezi island WIFI free. The only WIFI connection available is at the main lodge at Tongabezi in the Hangout.

The Chalets
Sindabezi has only five open-sided thatched cottages, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience.

Victoria Falls
One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Mosi-oa-Tunya or ‘smoke that thunders' is a short drive from Tongabezi. Our guides will take you to view the breath-taking cascades of water and walk you across Knife Edge bridge, where in high water you might be drenched in the spray. You can also visit Livingstone Island and gaze upon the Falls as David Livingstone first did: standing amongst them. The daring might even choose to swim in Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool that sits on the very edge of the abyss, or take a microlight or helicopter flight through the gorge and over the Falls.

Experiences
Sindabezi offers guests a wide range of activities during their stay. Drift down the Zambezi River on a Sunset Cruise or have a romantic river dinner out on a floating Sampan. Visit our exclusive Sand Bar in the evening. There are also some great activities for adrenaline junkies - white water rafting, elephant back safaris, microlight and helicopter flights, or the famous Victoria Falls bungee jump.

Dining at Sindabezi
Sink your bare toes into white Sindabezi sand under the dining table... whether you opt for a hosted meal shared with other island goers or prefer a private table set up in or near your chalet.

Spaces
Dining decks, comfortable lounges and picturesque camp fires. We bet Sindabezi Island will have a perfectly indulgent space for every aspect of your stay.

Sindabezi Chalets
The five Sindabezi Island Chalets are perched on stilted wooden decks to allow full immersion into the sights and sounds of our evocative African setting. Conservation conscious travellers will be delighted to know that the Island is completely independent from the grid and comfort conscious guests will be overjoyed to know they will be pampered with piping hot water, gourmet meals, ice cold drinks and gorgeously romantic lighting.

Imagine how magical Sindabezi Island would be if you are travelling with a small group. We have special rates for guests who wish to book the island exclusively.

Many guests combine Sindabezi with a stay at our sister property Tongabezi Lodge, a short boat ride away.
