Here, exceptional game viewing is combined with exciting activities including daily day and night drives, mountain bike safaris, walking safaris and visits to the local Mkasanga Village.
The Nsefu sector boasts some of the finest leopard viewing in Africa. This, combined with the abundance of diverse game populations; some of the most experienced guides in the valley, and the unusual and exhilarating safari activities available, make for an unforgettable African adventure.
Tafika Camp is seasonally operated and is open during the dry season from the 1st of May to the 15th of November. Children under 10 of years’ age are accepted at management's discretion.
Tafika Camp accommodates up to 14 guests in six spacious chalets with en suite facilities, built from natural materials around the trunks of stunning sausage trees. Four chalets have twin double beds in each room; the honeymoon suite has an enormous king size bed; and a final chalet with two rooms, a king size bed and two doubles serves as the family suite.
Remote Africa Safaris game drives accommodate a maximum of four guests per vehicle guaranteeing unobstructed viewing and photography and enabling all guests on board to share in the knowledge and insights of our skilful guides. Game drives from Tafika take place in the morning and late afternoon. Night drives stop for a sundowner before dedicated spotters seek out nocturnal wildlife with a spotlight, allowing the guide to pay full attention to the safety and comfort of their guests.
Our three exclusive bush camps, Chikoko, Crocodile and Mwaleshi, offer an unparalleled walking safari experience in some of the remotest parts of the Luangwa Valley. Each camp accommodates a maximum of six guests, ensuring an intimate safari experience, tracking game on existing animal trails through wilderness that is only accessible on foot.
It is an exciting adventure where new levels of life are constantly discovered ... from the fascinating insects that live within animal droppings to tiny elephant shrews, delicate wide-eyed antelope, enormous giraffe and more. On foot guests are given the rare opportunity to experience the bush at nature’s pace and to be immersed in the wonders that present themselves at every turn.
Walking safaris are always lead by an experienced Remote Africa Safaris guide, an armed National Park scout and accompanied by a tea bearer.

Mwaleshi Camp - North Luangwa
It is the realness of the experience, that dash of adrenaline associated with standing downwind of an elephant and catching its unmistakable scent that make walking safaris unforgettable.
Mwaleshi Camp, located in the vast wilderness of North Luangwa National Park, is a 45 minute flight from Mfuwe Airport. Hidden within a scenic bend of the Mwaleshi River 10km upstream of the confluence with the Luangwa River, the camp is a truly special and remarkable place, unlike any other.
There are few roads in this remote area and the majority of activities are done on foot, following existing animal trails. All senses become attuned to the surrounding bush as guests experience the variations in the magical diversity of the area.
Walkers enjoy the freedom of Africa's limitlessness on foot, accompanied by an experienced manager/guide and an armed National Park scout. Thanks to the availability of a vehicle - which drops off and collects guests – attractions further afield can be explored, such as the Mwaleshi Falls which is located upstream of the camp.
With just four thatched chalets rebuilt annually out of natural materials, en suite bathrooms open to the stars and uninterrupted views of the spectacular Mwaleshi River, the camp offers you a genuine feeling of solitude and seclusion. Life in camp is comfortable yet refreshingly simple.
Mwaleshi Camp is seasonally operated. It is open annually from the 15th of June to the 31st of October.
To make the most of the Remote Africa Safaris walking safari adventure it is suggested that guests spend four to five nights at Mwaleshi Camp
