Accommodation

Little Makololo

Little Makalolo lies in the heart of one of the best game viewing areas in Hwange National Park. Overlooking a vibrant waterhole, it offers privacy for guests who enjoy small camps and a sense of remoteness. The camp's six traditional-style tents – including a family unit – are spacious and en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers. Solar power is used for tent lights and to heat water, ensuring a lighter environmental footprint.

Toka Leya Camp

Overlooking islands in the mighty Zambezi River, Toka Leya offers the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure; ideal for the beginning or end of your African safari. Morning explorations of the river, the surrounding Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park or nearby Victoria Falls can be followed by a tranquil afternoon at our spa or practicing inspired yoga on the panoramic deck of our gym.

Busanga Bush Camp

Busanga Bush Camp lies on a verdant island in the heart of the Kafue’s Busanga Plains, a vast mosaic of grassy seasonal floodplains that extend to the horizon. When the mist rises off the drying floodplains in winter, incredible sunrises and sunsets can be experienced, and the plains and dambos teem with wildlife and birds. Due the remoteness and shortened tourism season here, our presence is vital for the survival of this fragile and extraordinary eco-system.

Itinerary

Days 1 to 4: Hwange National Park

Little Makololo

You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and helped to transfer to your internal charter flight to Hwange National Park. The flight takes about 45 mins and from there about 20 mins into Little Makololo Camp. This area of Hwange is superb with some stunning wildlife and scenery and activities include day and night game drives and guided walking safaris. The camp is not fenced and in the heart of the park and the wildlife regularly walks through camp, particularly the Elephants. Great accommodation, excellent food, superb guiding are all standard at this camp and the others on this itinerary.

Days 4 to 6: Victoria Falls, Zambia

Toka Leya Camp

After a morning activity you will fly to Victoria Falls and then transfer by road to Toka Leya on the Zambian side. From here you can explore the stunning Victoria Falls and the superb wildlife of Mosi-ao-tunya national park with many activities included as standard plus some extra's, such as the flight of the angels, that can be booked at extra cost on arrival. The camp has a great outlook over the river and the food and wine is superb with sundowners looking over the river being a highlight.

Days 6 to 9: Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park

Busanga Bush Camp

After a morning activity you will fly to Kafue National Park and Busanga Bush Camp, a truly remote region that is inaccessible for much of the year. As the floods dry this area can be accessed for wildlife viewing and the area and animals are truly wild. The camp itself is in the heart of the Busanga Plains that stretch for miles and are inhabited by many of the iconic African species. One great feature available during August, September & October is the Balloon Safari over the plains and can only be booked and paid for in camp, a truly unique experience. On your final day you will fly to Lusaka for your onward journey home.
