Mchenja Camp

Flanked by a grove of towering ebony trees on one side and the Luangwa River on the other, Time + Tide Mchenja offers luxury in the heart of the national park. Overlooking a wide river expanse, Time + Tide Mchenja is wonderful for watching large herds of elephants crossing the Luangwa River.

The rooms bring style, comfort and luxury to an authentic safari experience.

Luwi Camp

Situated deep in the national park on the ephemeral Luwi River, Time + Tide Luwi is wonderfully remote, with no other camps or people for miles around. Tranquillity envelops this camp, creating a wilderness haven that allows guests to reconnect with nature in a meaningful way.

Nestled in a grove of ancient mahogany trees, the rooms are designed to fully immerse guests into the bush experience.

Chongwe Camp

Dotted along the forested riverbanks, Time + Tide Chongwe Camp is surrounded by wild beauty. Set at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers against a beautiful mountainous backdrop, the camp offers the best views in the Lower Zambezi.

A grove of towering winterthorn trees creates a shady haven for the camp below. Guests aren't the only ones that enjoy them though - elephants frequently wander through camp to feed on the many seed pods dropped from above.

Itinerary

Days 1 to 4: South Luangwa National Park

Mchenja Camp

You will arrive at Lusaka Airport where you will transfer to your flight to Mfuwe Airstrip. Here you will be met by your guide who will take you to your first location and depending on your arrival time you can do an activity in the afternoon. Your daily routine throughout the trip consists of an early morning wake up, followed by a light breakfast and a morning activity, the best time to take a walk with an armed guide. Lunch follows and then a siesta until it is cool enough for an afternoon activity, returning after dark for a sumptuous Dinner.

Days 4 to 7: South Luangwa National Park

Luwi Camp

After a morning activity in Mchenja you will pack your bags and head off to your second South Luangwa Camp at Time + Tide Luwi Camp. The drive will be through the National park and on the way you have the chance to see lots of wildlife. Luwi Camp is small and intimate giving you the chance to see this incredible place in relative exclusivity. Activities here, like your first camp, include guided walking safaris and game drives with wildlife including Lion, Leopard, African Wild Dog, Spotted Hyena, Elephant, Giraffe and much, much more.

Days 7 to 11: Lower Zambezi National Park

Chongwe Camp

After a morning activity on your final day in South Luangwa your guide will take you to the airstrip for your flight to Lower Zambezi National Park and Chongwe Camp. A new area brings new wildlife with the incredible Zambezi River being the backdrop for this part of your trip. Activities here include the walking and game drives but you can also take part in canoe safaris and motorboat trips. This part of Zambia is renowned for its sunsets along the river and sundowners with a gin and tonic make this a superb end to your Zambian safari.
