Zimbabwe Vintage Safari

Take a trip to Zimbabwe like you were travelling in the late 19th Century (almost) staying in some stunning locations in some luxurious but simple camps. Activities are twice daily and you won't be disappointed by the wildlife.

You start this safari on the banks of the Zambezi River in Victoria Falls, the site of the world's largest waterfall. Staying at the classic Ilala Lodge, the closest to the entrance of the Falls national park you will have a great start to your safari. Activities here are not included but can be booked on arrival with many different things on offer.
Flying to your next destination in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's finest safari destination you will stay in the classically designed Deteema Springs Camp in the fabulous northern reaches of the park. With stunnign wildlife and beautifully designed, simple accommodation you won't be disappointed. Activities include walking safaris and day and night game drives.
Flying to your final destination in Mana Pools National Park you will meet the mighty Zambezi River again but this time as it spreads out into the famous floodplains of this national park. This national park is very different and you will meet the large numbers of Hippo that cause mayhem in the river but with predators also frequenting the area the sightings won't stop.

Ilala Lodge Hotel

Ilala Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel that offers luxury and comfort in the heart of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Nestled in attractive gardens, the well-appointed hotel is a mere eight-minute walk from Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

The hotel is ideally located in the hustle and bustle of town, within walking distance of all historical sites, restaurants and activities in Victoria Falls. Offering warm and welcoming true African hospitality, our friendly and attentive staff will ensure that your visit is perfect in every way.

Deteema Springs

Deteema Springs is a small concession area in a well-known northern region of the Hwange National Park. Close to the Deteema dam, the camp is perched on a slight rocky rise above permanent water springs, offering magnificent views of large concentrations of animals, including elephants. While night safaris are not allowed due to park regulations, Deteema offers amazing opportunities for walking safaris and viewing wildlife from the comfort of the camp.

Mana River Camp

Mana River Camp is positioned on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River nestled between this enormous perennial river and a much visited water pan, particularly enjoyed by elephants for mud bathing. Shade in the camp is provided by riverine forest predominately Trichilia Emetica and the fabled Faidherbia Albida (apple ring or Anna Tree).
The beauty of this camp is that it is a mobile tented camp known as a TEC – Temporary Extended Camp. The whole camp is taken down at the end of each season, before the wet season begins. This gives the feeling of the old, real bush, camping experience. The camp is unfenced and many different animals may be viewed from the camp, whilst enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Common visitors into camp are elephants. These giant pachyderms seem to want to introduce themselves to guests.
The camp offers 6 beautifully positioned tents along the Zambezi River , including one guide tent. One can simply sit back and enjoy the vast views of the mighty river.
